The Alerion 28 Express is a direct descendent of Nathanial Herreshoff’s 1912 26-foot Alerion III and is a combination of the original Herreshoff lines blended with a modern underbody. Daysailer Description
This elegant day sailer was designed by Carl Schumacher design. It causes sailors to instinctively pause and admire her classic lines. High quality construction by Pearson Composites, utilizing the SCRIMP system of resin infusion by vacuum, delivers outstanding performance under sail. The Alerion is specifically designed to be easily single handed. A fin keel and spade rudder provide exceptional maneuverability and stability. The Hoyt self tacking Jib Boom brings off wind speed, and a 14-hp Yanmar Diesel Sail Drive adds reliable power. The beautifully balanced boat sets the standard for the ideal day sailer.
